Preselection Highlighting on Pro/Engineer (Creo) Not Working [Solved]

Some Windows 7 users having this issue of ‘Preselection Highlighting’ on Pro/Engineer (Creo) not working even after enabling it on model tree ‘Show’.

Solution

In config.pro change  option ‘graphics’ from default ‘opengl’ to ‘win32_gdi’

If you want to enable this option every time Pro/Engineer (Creo) starts, the you need to modify the config options under Pro/Engineer installation directory.

Go to the above directory and open the Config.pro in notepad or any text editing software. And add ‘graphics win32_gdi’ to the text and save as .pro file by selecting ‘All Files’ under ‘Save as type’. Note that default save option for notepad will be .txt

Another Solution

On Windows 7 64 bit and 32 bit you can changing compatibility setting, for that you can right click Creo or Pro/Engineer desktop shortcut or Start menu icon and take ‘Properties’

Go to the ‘Compatibility’ tab, and  switch on ‘Disable Desktop Composition’.

When you restart Creo (Pro/Engineer) again, ‘Preselection Highlighting’ should work again !
